ABSTRACT: This book gathers the papers presented at the 10th Eusarf International Conference on: “Assessing the ‘Evidence-Base’ of Intervention for Vulnerable Children and Their Families” (Padua, Italy, March 26th – 29th 2008). The papers included represent authors from over 30 different countries. Although there are different cultures and welfare systems across countries, problems are often very similar and arise from challenges in child protection, fostering, care of deprived, abused and maltreated children. This book indicates to us the direction taken by many research and experimental centres, especially innovative projects, working as a tool that helps us become more aware of problems and their solutions. Thanks to the open international dialogue which addresses cultural differences, these solutions may, in the future, be human and scientific resources. This can be disseminated beyond national frontiers.
